APAF is Australia’s premier protein discovery research/service facility working to discover and purify novel biomarkers for human health and agricultural biotech applications.
APAF has a number of examples of recent, successful partnerships across medicine, agriculture and science. APAF is keen to explore collaborative and partnership opportunities and is especially interested in the Agricultural Biotech, small to medium Biotech, Diagnostic, Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical companies as well large research facilities involved in Life Sciences.
APAF has a broad range of new mass spectrometry capabilities, including the latest in LC-MALDI, LC/MS/MS with labelling capabilities which has allowed APAF to move more heavily into the Biomarker discovery arena.
Techniques such as selective reaction monitoring (SRM) have also increased their capabilities as they can speed up the process of validating panels of proteins that may be involved in a diagnosis or give indications of the prognosis for the individual patients.
APAF Ltd receives funding for infrastructure requirements from both Federal and State Governments and is chartered to provide the latest technology in proteomics to Australian and International Scientist. This funding enables us to ensure we have the latest equipment and techniques up and running in our facilities.
