Technology/Products and Services Description

BioDiem has the following projects currently under development:

  • Live Attenuated Influenza Vaccine (LAIV)
LAIV is a novel, intranasal vaccine in development for both pandemic and epidemic influenza, with the advantages of breadth of protection and cell culture manufacture.  The vaccine has been licensed to European-based vaccine company Nobilon, where it is being developed for production in the next generation method of cell culture, for registration in Europe and Asia against seasonal flu. A pandemic vaccine against avian H5N1 is being developed at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in collaboration with Nobilon and BioDiem.

North American marketing rights are available.

  • Retinal Eye Disease Treatment (BDM-E)
BDM-E is a peptide in trial for retinal eye diseases. It has novel and potentially beneficial activity on cell layers in the back of the eye for patients with major causes of blindness.

Recent pre-clinical “proof-of-concept” results from Monash University showed that BDM-E had a remarkable ability to repair the retina in a model of angiogenic eye diseases such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and the infant disease retinopathy of pre-maturity.

BDM-E is available for licensing worldwide.

  • Animal Feed Enhancer (BDM-I)
BDM-I is a synthetic antimicrobial compound being developed as a substitute for the use of human antibiotics as growth promoters in intensively reared poultry.

BDM-I is available for licensing worldwide.
