Incoming freight to major trade exhibitions like Medica are managed by appointed freight forwarding companies who have sole jurisdiction over any freight entering and leaving the trade fair grounds. This includes receipt and handling of goods, forklift hire, deliveries to stands and storage. Courier or freight companies other than those specified by Medica are NOT permitted to deliver goods within the fair grounds.

Shipment of any freight to an exhibition MUST be done through one of the appointed preferred forwarders for the exhibition. This can either be done with one of the nominated freight forwarders (using their local Australian contact/agent) or by using your own preferred freight forwarder who then liaises with one of the preferred show forwarders on your behalf.

Please note: Freight forwarding to an exhibition varies from standard forwarding as it provides a total freight management service including delivery of freight to your booth and storage of freight on-site. It is more expensive than the traditional freight forwarding as additional handling and processing fees are applied.

Austrade recommends that all exhibitors seek written quotations from companies before consigning any freight.  Should you decide to work with your regular forwarder from Australia, you must ensure they quote the charges for delivery to the stand which should be sought from one of the official on-site forwarders listed by Medica.

To lessen freight costs, particularly if taking smaller quantities of supplies, exhibitors should consider hand-carry items to reduce cost and maximise set up times.
