Healthcare Software (HCS) provides clinical solutions for large and small care facilities, specialising in the following:
- Medication management
- Clinical decision support
- Discharge summaries
- Other clinical documentation
The solutions are used by a range of healthcare providers; within the hospital (doctors, nurses, pharmacists) and the community (GPs, aged care homes and community pharmacists).
Healthcare Software works with clients to develop customised clinical solutions thereby resulting in an ever increasing folio of products. Initially focused on PharmCare, a dedicated medication management solution, the HCS offering is expanding into a comprehensive and exhaustive clinical information suite.
Healthcare Software has a strong presence in Australia after having been successful in a number of State Government tenders. Medication management is an emerging universal issue and therefore immediate focus will be increased on markets such as New Zealand, South East and Northern Asia. Collaborating with large hospitals and/or organisations in these markets who are interested in improving clinical processes and minimising the impacts of preventable error could result in mutually beneficial arrangements.
The future vision of Healthcare Software is to assist care providers in a number of markets/regions; including Australasia, Asia, the Middle East and Europe. Domestic partners will be sought in all these markets for the provision of complementary solutions and local knowledge.
Healthcare Software clinical solutions are complementary in the roles they perform:
- HCS PharmCare is a solution developed specifically to assist hospital staff at the point of care with the effective management of medicines. It provides a range of decision support tools relating to the prescription and administration of medicines for each patient; including drug interaction alerts, counselling sheets, information databases for continued support and comprehensive medication histories. It complements pharmacy software, such as dispensing and stock control systems, in streamlining processes for the benefit of patients, users and management.
- HCS discharge summaries consolidate and document comprehensive patient information, pushed from a range of data sources. The summaries, which are then referred to all relevant care providers and/or family members, allow a seamless transferral of patient information, enhancing quality of care beyond the hospital stay.
- Other capabilities currently being developed will be regularly added to the suite of products to enhance the clinical solution.
Healthcare Software is comprised of experienced technical and healthcare personnel; including pharmacists, nurses, IT specialists and business managers. The needs of all stakeholder groups are therefore represented in the development of solutions, resulting in a range of substantiated benefits.
Healthcare Software clinical solutions will be rolled out in every major public hospital in at least two Australian states by the end of 2010. Advanced negotiations are also underway with several other states and District Health Boards in New Zealand.
The software solutions and success of Healthcare Software is attracting very highly regarded employees, potential customers, partners and collaborators. Working intimately with such high profile industry members provides an exceptional standard of input in the continued development of solutions.
