MiniFAB, a private company, offers contract product development, prototyping and manufacturing for the biotechnology sector. We specialize in the realization of customized solutions based on polymer micro and nano engineering. An example of MiniFAB’s expertise in product development and manufacturing is highlighted by it’s work for TearLab Corporation. TearLab Corporation headquartered in San Diego, California, is commercializing a proprietary in vitro diagnostic tear testing platform, The TearLab™ Osmolarity System, which is capable of accurately and rapidly measuring biomarkers in tears at the point-of-care. MiniFAB developed and manufactures the disposable cartridge for the system. The TearLab™ Osmolarity System recently received a 2009 Medical Design Excellence Award (MDEA).
