Nanotechnology Victoria Ltd (NanoVic) has developed a portfolio of bionanotechnology activities with considerable commercial potential, exploiting the advantages offered by nanotechnology for improved drug delivery, medical imaging and diagnostic systems. To facilitate commercialisation of these products, two vehicles have been established - Interstitial NanoSystems (Interstitial NS) and Quintain NanoSystems (Quintain NS).
Interstitial NS is a specialist development company for novel therapeutic nanoparticle delivery systems. Interstitial NS has products in bioengineering for the improvement of new and existing pharmaceuticals, products for the nano-formulation of pharmaceuticals and vaccines, as well as transdermal and pulmonary delivery platforms.
Quintain NS is focused on the development of nanoengineered contrast media for the medical imaging market. These contrast media products will enable a step change in enhanced imaging, allowing radiographers and clinicians to detect disease at an earlier stage of development, whilst also providing a mechanism for more effective disease monitoring.
Interstitial NS is seeking investment and co-development partners for its therapeutic platforms, including transdermal delivery and nano-formulated, adjuvant-free vaccine delivery.
Quintain NS is seeking investment and co-development opportunities for its contrast media business, to enable development of specific products based upon its two platform technologies (qBright and qTrack).
NanoVic is seeking out-licensing opportunities for in vitro diagnostic platforms and reagents. These include a novel diagnostic antibody against Neisseria meningitidis for meningococcal disease detection and a nanoarray biochip technology for ultra-sensitive, high throughput diagnostics.
The focus of Interstitial NS is therapeutic nanoparticle delivery:
- NanoMAPs for transdermal delivery of nanostructured therapeutics and vaccines.
- nVac for adjuvant-free delivery of nano-formulated vaccines.
- Pulmonary inhaler - user-controlled delivery of nanoparticle therapeutics.
- InCellution- molecular evolution technology for intra-cell modification and improvement of protein-based therapeutics and diagnostics.
The focus of Quintain NS is development of contrast agents for medical imaging. These agents are developed using two key platforms:
- qBright - Targeted gold nanoparticulate radiologic agents – lead application for detection of prostate cancer.
- qTrack - Nanoengineered, targeted MRI agents – lead application for detection of vulnerable plaques.
The Interstitial NS NanoMAPs offer an innovative approach to drug delivery that is non-invasive, pain-free and user-controlled. The nVAC product provides for adjuvant-free pure antigen vaccines, that elicit a complete immune response.
The Quintain NS qBright and qTrack medical imaging agents offer the ability to specifically target and identify diseased tissues within the body, whilst also enhancing tissue contrast, using readily available imaging equipment.
