Overview

University of Wollongong (UOW) is developing and commercialising early stage intellectual property in the Life science area.

Initial focus is on drug reformulation for cancer treatment, cancer targeting biological, GAS vaccine candidates, real time radiation monitoring devices for Brachytherapy and novel nutraceuticals targeting appetite.

UOW has a commercialisation agreement with UniQuest Pty Ltd and employs over 50 people in the technology commercialisation space. It focuses technology commercialisation of the University’s intellectual property assets.

Current products available for immediate licensing include:

  • GAS vaccine
  • TT-lock ultrasensitive diagnostic technology 
  • OzID technology for on line determination of double bond position in lipids

Technology/Products and Services Description

The University of Wollongong has a range of technologies in the areas of Biomolecular science and drug discovery, biomaterials and medical radiation physics including:

  • Biomolecular science – novel therapeutics for cancer, inflammation, obesity, depression and infectious diseases
  • Biomaterials – artificial muscles, Cochlear ear implant, and biomechanical feedback, all based on intelligent polymers
  • Medical radiation physics – real time dosimetry for prostate brachytherapy.
