bioMD Limited

Overview

bioMD Limited, a publicly listed company, is involved in the global marketing of the ADAPT® Advanced Tissue Process technology. This process has been developed over a period of 7 years and is used in the treatment of animal tissues for use as bioimplants in humans. The ADAPT® process produces a more durable implant by reducing calcification to less than normal physiological levels, reducing the immune response to zero and providing a regenerative biocompatible implant. This technology has produced outstanding results in pre-clinical in vivo animal studies. Indications for use include repair of congenital heart deformities, vascular aortic valve conduits and other applications in the more general areas of pelvic floor repair and orthopaedic reconstructions. The process can be used with any collagen based tissue, and its enhanced crosslinking and effective anti-calcification produces a bioimplant with advanced in vivo capabilities.

Business Opportunities (i.e Corporate Alliances/Partnerships)

BioMD will licence the ADAPT platform technology and the associated know-how to global medical device companies whose current products and marketing knowledge have synergies with the bioimplants that are able to be produced with the ADAPT technology.

Technology/Products and Services Description

The ADAPT Advanced Tissue Process has application in producing bioimplants used in 5 major surgical disciplines.

Competitive Advantages

The ADAPT Advanced Tissue Process produces bioimplants that are both durable and regenerative. The implantable biomaterial provides a resilient scaffold through which the recipient’s own cells can grow and proliferate into living host tissue.
